The oyster story starts here... it's the summer of '98 and a young Pommy Zoology student locks eyes with a tanned Aussie surfer on Herm Island, UK. He's loading oyster bags at the harbour when he introduces himself to her. Bare chested and with a goofy smile, right then she knew she'd met her life partner.
Fast forward 20 years, Emily and Yale are living their dream - surfing, ocean swimming and working their oyster leases daily on the beautiful South Coast, NSW.
Passionate about their coastal environment and committed to leaving this planet in a better way for their 3 children, Haven Island Oysters strive to lead the way in sustainable oyster farming practices; using recycled materials for infrastructure, compostable packaging and crushing waste oyster shells for local organic farms.
